Welcome to the South! It’s a region that lags behind the others. It once had maritime exploration hegemony and prospered, but failed to reinvest that money in technological development. Nevertheless, the people here are the friendliest and probably the most cheerful on the island. They are renowned for welcoming residents from other regions and for knowing how to throw a party like no one else; the good weather certainly helps, with warm sunshine for a significant part of the year. Sometimes a bit lazy, they tend to envy successful people and almost want to bring them down.

The most productive sectors are agriculture, notably in vineyard cultivation, and mineral exploration. It’s a region that may be behind, but with great potential.
